The Frontis Theme allows you to create a blog archive page using WordPress’s built-in block system. This enables you to display all your blog posts in a structured format, with or without a sidebar.
Follow these steps to create a Blog Archive Page in the Frontis Theme.
Create a Blog Archive Page
- Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to Pages → Add New.
- Enter a title for the page, such as Blog or Archive.
Assign a Blog Template
- Click Edit to open the page in the Block Editor.
- On the right-side settings panel, locate the Template option.
- Click on Swap Template, which will open a pop-up with available templates.
- Find and select one of the following:
- Blog Template (Default archive layout)
- Blog Left Sidebar (Archive page with a sidebar on the left)
- Blog Right Sidebar (Archive page with a sidebar on the right)
Customize the Blog Archive Layout
Once you’ve selected a template, you can modify the layout:
Adjust post display settings (grid or list view)
Modify typography, spacing, and colors
Add or remove sections (e.g., remove post metadata, featured images, etc.)
You can add a search option by clicking the + icon and dragging it to where you want it to appear.
Customize sidebar widgets if you chose a sidebar layout
To make these changes, go to Appearance → Editor → Templates and edit the Blog Archive Template, just like you would for a single blog post.
Step 4: Save and Set as Blog Archive
- Click Publish to save the new blog page.
- If WordPress is not automatically using this page as the blog archive:
- Go to Settings → Reading.
- Under Your Homepage Displays, select A Static Page.
- Choose the newly created Blog page as the Posts Page.
- Click Save Changes.
